Minutes of the Monthly Business Meeting

Tuesday, February 5 , 2019

 

 

Meeting called to order by President Doni Smith at 7:10 pm.

 

 The Pledge of Allegiance led by Bud Gerber.

 

Opening prayer was done by Bill Manion

 

Attendance sheet is being passed around.

 

A motion made by Scott Smith seconded by Mac MacDonald to accept the Business Meeting Minutes from December 4 ,2018 and with all in favor, no opposition, motion approved.

 

Kitchen Duties: Matt Oswald, Joe Oswald, Ricky White

 

President, Doni Smith:  Updated the membership on the following items:

  • Welcome Brandon Allen
  • Defensive Driving- February 9, 2019
  • 8 interiors who qualify for the cancer bill for interior firefighters.
  • CPR February 12th 2019

Vice President Paul Livingston – updated the membership on the following.

  • Please be responsible when you get into a truck that we own. We have had a lot of accidents over the years. Use caution!

Secretary, Jessica McKinney – updated the membership on the following.

  • No report.  

Treasurer, Bob Leombruno – updated the membership on the following.

  • Budget- $136.850.00 proposed budget for 2019. An approximate $15,000 increase from 2018. Motion to accept the proposed budget by Bill Manion and 2nd by Brandon Combs. All in favor. Motion carried.

Director, Garrett Ramsey- updated the membership on the following.

Director, Mike Parsons – updated the membership on the following.

  • No report.

 

Director, Mac MacDonald – updated the membership on the following.

  • No report.

Chief, Scott Smith  –   updated the membership on the following.

  • Thank you for everyone’s awesome response to calls lately!
  • Please make sure all trucks are getting plugged in after calls. They are looking really good after washes
  • No social media of calls!!
  • Budget time. All officers are getting their budgets together for the year.
  • Welcome Brandon Allen
  • Congrats to Ricky White for getting his black helmet
  • Anyone with a Minitor 6 pagers…we need their serial numbers
  • Do not mess with anyone’s gear!
  • Drug testing will be done here for everyone. Potential date is a drill night in April.
  • PO number for tires for 330 and for the tanker, 330 is still OOS

1st Asst. Chief, Matt Oswald – updated the membership on the following.

  • 231 suffered an accident. Sincere apologies to the department for any headaches that may have occurred and thank you to everyone that has reached out or was there that day.
  • Drills for this month- a schedule has been posted outside the comm room.
  • Consideration of the OSHA course being offered again. 2 night class, 4 hours each.

2nd Asst. Chief– Jeremy Crispell

  • Looking for new dates with Glens Falls pool

Captain Brandon Combs – updated the membership on the following.

  • If you have a minitor 6 please bring it in and get us the serial number.

1st Lieutenant John Cocozza – updated the Membership on the following

  • Thank you for the great response to the past few calls!

2nd Lieutenant Austin Gentner – updated the membership on the following.

A motion was made by Paul Livingston seconded by Mac MacDonald to accept the Special Committee and Standing Committee reports as read.  All in favor, no opposition, motion carried.

 

 

Old Business:

  • Letter read to the membership about Verizon cell phones by Jim Barber

New Business:

  •  Paul Livingston brought up possibly purchasing the antique truck that was found online that used to belong to us, it is a 1937 Stanford. Paul Livingston would like to make a motion for us to purchase the truck and spend up to $1,500.00 to have it shipped to us and $1,500.00 for the truck itself. The motion was 2nd by Scott Smith. Discussion. 22 yes 1 no 4 abstentions. Motion carried.
  • Discussion on the big utility trailer. Paul Livingston has made an offer of $4,000.00 for the trailer to the department. Robb Hickey has made a motion that we accept Paul Livingston’s offer of $4,000.00 for our utility trailer. The motion was 2nd by Scott Smith. Discussion. 22 yes 1 no 4 abstentions. Motion carried
